What does ‘doing your bit’ mean to you?

Doing my bit means giving back to an organisation that gave me so much growing up. In return I have inspired and motivated a group of young leaders and young people to be the best they can be. I actively listen to what they want and, as volunteer manager, I ensure JLGB delivers an experience for which we can all be proud. An experience which our young people can enjoy as much as I did in my own youth – and still do!

What have you gained from JLGB?

So much! JLGB has undoubtedly changed my life for the better. I have gained a new level of confidence and skill which helped me get a new job and move to London. Even better than that, I have made life long friends and met my husband!

Why should others volunteer?

Simply put, its great fun and a deeply rewarding experience. I would encourage anyone to just try it and discover the benefits for themselves.
